    Last year, Japanese manufacturer Yamaha experienced a 28.1 percent drop in revenues. According to officials at Yamaha, the economic slump brought a decrease in sales of motorcycles and marine products both in the home market and overseas in 2009. All these made the Japanese manufacturer consider cost-cutting and reorganization. Yamaha will eliminate 200 positions in the United States and Europe this year in addition to 800 layoffs by the end of October announced earlier this month.     The Fiat Yamaha rider has had surgery on right hand following a training accident on Thursday, and will not participate in the next test at Sepang which takes place from February 25-26. Jorge Lorenzo underwent an operation on his right hand on Thursday, after a motocross training accident near Montmeló. The 22 year-old Spanish rider, who was runner-up in the 2009 MotoGP World Championship, fell in a slow corner when doing approximately 30 km/h and hurt his right hand as he landed.     The new bike was due to be officially unveiled in the summer as a replacement for the FZ6 Fazer, had until now only been partially revealed with two teaser shots released by Yamaha of just the nose. Yamaha’s plan was to spend another month or so releasing more images but MCN was able to get hold of images before that. As a response Yamaha has released this single official image of the naked FZ8.     According to the Italian Web site GPOne.com, Valentino Rossi was admitted to a hospital in Pesaro, Italy, Thursday night due to severe abdominal pains. The 2009 MotoGP Champion was suffering from a serious inflammation of the appendix, not yet diagnosed appendicitis, but the doctors said emergency surgery was not needed. Rossi was sent home to rest and is taking antibiotics, GPOne.com reported. Appendicitis usually involves the removal of the appendix to avoid further complications.
